We're halfway through the school year, and as such it's a good time to make a report on how our little stingray is doing.
First things first, I've drawn my first tileset for the game. Tilesets are a type of engine mechanic where you can put down repeating blocks that serve as the level's layout. These are different from "actors", who "act" accordingly and do various things from simply moving around to being an entire player. (Fun fact: the "hero" of a game isn't made in some super special place specifically for them, they're done just like every other actor; they just have more controls associated with them. But that's beside the point.) It's an ice level, pretty much, with a small level of tiles. Not enough to look pretty, but it's enough to tell what I wanna make.

Also, there's a new enemy in the game. They're a completely original enemy that I totally didn't steal from another game at all! HAHA! Hahah... ha... ...eugh. Anyway, this enemy in particular can toss their blade arms like boomerangs, a very lethal weapon against anything blown up like a balloon... including itself! This should make interesting things happen, to say the least.
Overall, there's not that much progress I can really talk about. Hopefully, I can get further with this game, with enough progress to start talking about things more. Oh well.
