I've reached a point in my game where I need to start animating these little guys. For the longest time, the most animation I ever really did involved a little smoke thing hovering over Ito whenever he passed out. It provided a nice comical effect, but it meant that the only life in the game was when Ito died. That's rather ironic. And nobody likes irony.
When I got to developing the Tooop, a little ghost-like enemy that uses rockets to ram themselves through Ito, and apply blunt damage to poor little Ito, I thought that I could try practicing a little bit of some ACTUAL animation towards someone so simple to draw. I used a little thing called "Inchworm Animation" to do so, and although it may not be the best thing to use, it's the only thing I know what to use for right now.

Lemme tell you, as someone who doesn't animate often, it's an interesting, if not long, experience to do, even if all you're doing is changing a specific body part's place by mere pixels. It at least achieves some kind of life in the character, and that's what we're looking for!
Either way, I look forward to more animation! Hopefully the next time we meet, I'll actually have an animation for our "little" hero! (Supposing he hasn't passed out, that is.)
